Pattaya is one of the most popular resorts in Thailand, which is located in the South-Eastern part of the country and occupies 30 km of the coastline. This universal resort has everything that is necessary for a quiet family holiday or an active night's rest. The districts of Pattaya have their own characteristics and advantages.


The biggest number of tourists is concentrated in a small area between Walking Street and Beach Road but there are also different entertainments for tourists in other areas. In this article, we are giving a brief description of each district of Pattaya so that you could choose the best one for your vacation.

Pattaya is divided into three districts according to geographic features: northern, central and southern part. The developed transportation system of the city allows to reach any district quickly and inexpensively.







North Pattaya



This district is one of the cleanest area in Pattaya. There you will find Wongamat district and Wongamat beach, which is one of the best in the city. North Pattaya is a great place for a chic vacation with a large number of fashionable hotels, clean beaches and developed tourist infrastructure. There are a lot of shopping centers, car dealerships near the North Street.




Na Klua District



This quiet and peaceful area in the north of Pattaya is very popular among tourists. Several beaches, comfortable hotels, different entertainments will give you an unforgettable vacation. The most popular beach is Phra Chan beach, which is about 1 km long, so there are no crowds of tourists and you can sunbathe in the quiet atmosphere. Another cozy and secluded place is Palm Beach with clear water and clean sand. And although you will not see the real palm trees here, there is a green park stretching along the coast. Numerous hotels on the coast reliably protect the beaches from the city bustle. This area is perfect for tourists with a limited budget, who can rent an inexpensive room here. More expensive hotels provide a wide range of services such as swimming pools, spa salons, fitness halls, bars and restaurants. There is everything for a perfect holiday in Naklua, including markets with fruits and seafood, inexpensive street cafes, chic restaurants, night bars and discos.




Central Pattaya



The largest number of tourists and local people is concentrated in the center of the city. The most popular tourist destination here is Beach Road.. Fans of active beach holidays should definitely visit the largest beach resort - Pattaya Beach. There are all kinds of beach activities. But, numerous motorboats pollute the water, so it's better to go snorkeling and diving to the nearby islands. Life on the beach is active all day long. In the morning people sunbathe and at night tourists are going to the Beach Road.

Various shows and events are constantly held in the center of Pattaya, including the Fireworks Festival, Loi Krathong and even a bed race. There are also many night clubs, massage rooms, shops and the largest shopping center Central Festival with boutiques, restaurants and entertainments. Central Pattaya is a great place for shopping. The streets are full of small souvenir shops, brand boutiques and night markets. You can choose room in a large selection of housing with different prices. Fans of nightlife prefer to stay in hotels in Walking Street, Beach Road or Pattaya Beach.




South Pattaya



The main city street Thappraya and Sukhumvit highway run through South Pattaya. Tourists usually come here to the South Bus Station or to buy some goods in the Big C supermarket. There will not be problems with housing here because of a good choice of inexpensive and elite hotels.




Prataumnak



The territory in the south side of Bali Hai Pier is named after the highest hill in Pattaya - Pratumnak. The area is considered to be elite because the residence of the Thai princess is situated here. On the Pratumnak Beach people can rent sunchairs and umbrellas, buy food, clothing, and souvenirs from local sellers. There is a wide range of entertainments in this district such as the waterpark, golf club, go-karting center, park and a lot of viewpoints. A large statue of Buddha sits on top of the hill. All luxury hotels are built on the seashore. For example, the Pattaya Park complex has the highest tower in Pattaya and its own water park. There is a "Russian village" in Pratumnak district, where Russian-speaking immigrants live.




Jomtien



The area is named after a local beach, which is more than 6 km long. The beach is very clean and popular among tourists and local people. Competitions in beach sports are often held here. It is also a great place to admire the sunsets. A large night market and a Tesco Lotus hypermarket are in the north of the district Many hotels and condos are built here, you can choose a room with the different price - from economy class to luxury.

Clean sandy Na Jomtien beach stretches to the south of the of Jomtien District. There is the Ambassador hotel which is popular among Russian tourists. It has its own infrastructure including the night market, pharmacies, exchange offices, cafes, restaurants and bars.


Tina
I think the central part is the best zone in Pattaya. There are several shops, a cafe, a market and a bar. So I think this is the best area for me.
