From Pattaya to Phuket

EN

The second most popular tourist place is Phuket - the biggest island of Thailand.

Phuket is situated in the south of the country, washed by the Andaman sea which flows into the Indian ocean. The island is abundant with beautiful tropical beaches.

There is water, air and land communication between Phuket and the mainland. The island is connected with the mainland by Sarasin Bridge. The bridge was built in the 1960s and completely replaced the ferry communication between the island and the mainland.

From Pattaya to Phuket by plane

The fastest way to get to Phuket is by plane. The time in the air is 1 hour 20 minutes. The flights to Phuket are available from the local U-Tapao Airport which is situated in Pattaya and from Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports which are in Bangkok. Depending on the chosen airport, the travelling time from Pattaya to Phuket may vary from 3 to 6-7 hours. The best prices are usually for the flights from Don Mueang Airport which is situated in 2-3 hours’ ride from Pattaya.

Low cost

With low cost airlines you can get a ticket from 700 THB per a person. Usually low cost flights are offered from Don Mueang airport, more rarely - from Suvarnabhumi. Flights to Phuket by Air Asia and Orient Thai airlines are available from Don Mueang Airport, flights by VietJet Air - from U-Tapao and by Bangkok Airways - from Suvarnabhumi.

By travelling with low cost flights you can save money, however, do not forget that low cost flights do not include some options, for example, lunch or luggage (usually not more than 7 kg is allowed). The checking-in at the airport requires payment, so we recommend to check in online in advance.

It is easy to get to Suvarnabhumi and U-Tapao airports from Pattaya - you can either use a regular bus or catch a taxi. You can get to Don Mueang Airport by taxi or public bus which you will need to change at Suvarnabhumi or at Ekkamai Bus Terminal or Victory Monument in Bangkok.

From Pattaya to Phuket by bus

It is also possible to get to Phuket by regular bus. Travelling time - 15 hours. The bus leaves at 17:00 daily from the bus station in the Third Road and arrives to Phuket at 08:00. Travelling to Phuket by bus is rather convenient because it leaves right from Pattaya, you don’t have to go to the airport, go through the check-in and the price for the ticket is only 795 THB. A big disadvantage is a long time in the bus. However, you can sleep through the trip as this is a night trip.

From Pattaya to Phuket by taxi

Travelling time from Pattaya to Phuket by taxi is about 10-12 hours. The prices for the taxi service vary from 10 000 to 15 000 THB depending on the chosen type of transport. Travelling to Phuket by taxi is convenient and practical if you travel with a big company of friends and have a lot of luggage.
